Jennifer Hymes, Founder & President of H&N Consulting

When I started in the healthcare business as a physician recruiter, I quickly realized that quality patient care requires that a healthcare organization be financially and operationally strong.

In 2006, I formed H&N Consulting with the goal of helping medical practices and healthcare facilities achieve greater financial strength and value, whether through organizational changes and strategic growth or by recapitalizing or selling the business. Based on each client's needs and goals, I advise practice owners on mergers and acquisitions, connecting them with venture capital firms, private equity groups, and other strategic buyers.

As the Founder and President of H&N Consulting, I draw on more than 20 years of successful leadership experience in change management and organizational growth. I am well versed in practice integration, patient satisfaction, fiscal planning, and operational management at multi-clinical sites. With every project I take on, my focus is to consistently help clients achieve high-growth margins and quality outcomes.

Continual changes in the healthcare field reflect an emphasis on quality care and patient access. For medical practices to succeed, they need to deliver greater physician engagement and transparency. Through H&N Consulting, I provide a range of services to help my clients navigate this challenging landscape.

The Key to Success

I take the business — and success — of healthcare providers very personally.

When I was 15 years old, my father died of cancer. I watched as the disease transformed him from a vibrant, healthy father into a quadriplegic. Though just a teenager, I began to understand how the healthcare system made a difference for him and my family. Before he died, my dad had instilled in me a love for life, the passion for hard work, and the discipline of obtaining an education.

Those tough early life lessons were instrumental to my success, both professionally and personally. I eventually committed myself to a career outside the clinical setting that would help advance the availability of quality, compassionate patient care.

Though he was a talented IBM engineer, my father showed me that it's not enough just to be successful at business. As a single mother, I wanted my drive for success to be a positive influence on my two children. I am proud of their personal and professional achievements as executives in the technology and software industries.
